Women in Soil Ecology (WISE) is a network aimed at connecting women scientists at multiple career stage to build a strong community and further promote equity to all those identifying as women in science. This nationwide program pairs female graduate students with female professors and post-docs to serve as mentors outside of their primary research institution with the goal of providing support for and addressing issues facing women in STEM such as gender-biases, sexual harassment, work-life balance, and navigating the job market. Our network includes women from across the US and abroad in University, Government, NGOs and Non-profit positions all connected through Soil Ecology! We aim to continue to grow this network and offer webinars and in-person conference meetups in addition to mentoring.
