I am a Postdoctoral scientist in the Angert Lab at the Biodiversity Research Centre, UBC. My research takes a data-driven approach to understand the impacts of global change on plant and soil microbial communities and their cascading effects on biodiversity and ecosystem function. I synthesize ecological and environmental data including global climate and trait databases, long-term experimental monitoring networks, environmental DNA and other digital repositories to understand the complex interactions between processes occurring aboveground, belowground and at their interface.
Previously, I was a post-doc with Katie Suding and Sarah Elmendorf at CU Boulder (INSTAAR). I completed my PhD in Plant Biology in the Diez Ecology lab at UC Riverside. I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Florida and my Master's in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development from the University of Georgia in the Wurzburger lab.
